Target wayfinding is RGB.

Everyone knows target is red, or is it red is Target? Regardless it was very interesting to go into Target and see wayfinding that used colors other than red. The store was broken up into three sections each with it's own color. Need clothes? No problem head over to the blue part of the store. Need a new TV? Head over to green. Need a domo, Stef? Head over to the seasonal section of the store located in the red portion of the building.

Color coding of information such as security zones, ticketing zones, baggage pickup zones, etc. can all be color coded. This could make travelers have a clearer understanding of where they are and what they should be doing. For example if the red zone in an airport were where security scanning takes place. Of course the long lines, security scanners, and TSA agents might also suggest this.

I am sure this tactic has been used in some airport somewhere, but the only color coding I see when I go to airports is what threat level we are currently at. How exactly is this supposed to make me feel good?
